Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Just keep the faith. Soon you will have your offer letter also for your bridging. It would be better also to apply for other schools so that you can secure a slot before the expiration of you eligibility. Good luck!

thank you very much my friend for encouragement! and by the way,how many schools have you tried before you decided to concentrate on CON? A week ago I applied to Castlemaine Health to back up my chances.should i really apply to as many schools as possible???? seems to me not quite right....

Hi. I hope you could help me, I'm having a dilemma right now whether to

pursue ACFE ( I have paid the application fee and passed the interview and I'm scheduled for April 30 intake) or to wait for

AAON. I am scheduled for the interview on Mar. 12, for thier June intake. I'm bothered because Business

Visa is the only type of Visa ACFE students could use ( 3 mos.only). Since AAON Iron program is CRICOS maybe a 575 Student Non-award or 676 Visa are applicable to AAON. It might be an advantage since it allows 4 months or longer of stay.

I hope you could help me with this. I haven't started Visa processing yet. My AHPRA will expire in October 2013.

Hi

Anyone who can suggest a Health Insurance for a Bridging Program? I'm preferring a cheap one. =) How much? Thanks

Hi ms lani_g! I migt also try aaon since it's on a little earlier intake than alpine, lesser tuition and a bit nearer the city i guess? But im not closing doors to alpine yet. Do you have an idea how quick aaon sends offer letters after an interview? Im for tuesdays interview. Il see how this goes... Any advice? :) thanks ms lani_g!

Hi sephine,

My coworker got his offer letter 3 weeks after his interview

I applied to other schools with no application fee such as AAON, Alpine and Castlemaine. It is better to apply to many schools if you really want to secure a slot for your bridging long before the expiration of your eligibility. If you checked the AHPRA website for the accredited schools for BP, you'll notice that schools have limited number of intake per year and limited number of participants per intake. Considering the huge number of applicants seeking admission for a BP, it would better to apply other schools also.

Is it possible to receive an offer letter from aaon within a week? Thanks a lot!

Try Bupa. That's what i have now. $37 a month only.

I am currently having my bridging program now at IHNA in Melbourne. It's a bit tough for me since everything is new and the health care system is completely different. For those who will be going to IHNA, all professors are fantastic and very intelligent. Make sure you study and practice before you leave.

I agree, especially the practices in the hospital.. But I am sure you will enjoy it here. And you will learn a lot.

Could i ask you what was the fate of your application to Castlemaine Health? Have you been turned down?if you have, what were the reasons? I greatly appreciate the information you provide me.

No result yet. As of their last email, they will just contact me towards the end of March for the outcome.

Hi Sephine,

Yes. He got it after 3 weeks after constant follow-up. He was already in Australia when he applied there under student visa (another course). He just finished his course last week. He started the bridging course last December. I think applicants from other countries will get the offer letter faster if they passed the interview because they still need to process the visa. A friend of mine who was interviewed last February said that she would get the outcome of the interview after one week if she passed.
