How did your applications go? I, too, would like to apply for the Residence Permit to Learn Norwegian on my own (not go through an agency or consultancy firm). I would just like to ask pointers on the Cover Letter, Info on Housing, and the Written Norwegian Courses Plan. Do you have samples? I am so clueless on how to go through with this :/

hi everyone! im just new here in this site. so im totally confused and lost. ive read some of the posts regarding the application for a residency in norway and wanted to work as a nurse too. What are the requirements for nurses in this state? i'm currently residing in Sydney, Australia. Do i need to take the norwegian language exam before i could apply for? how about the housing?! which is better, apply for a student visa or working? but my problem is i dont have any work related experience in nursing? can i still.apply for work as a nurse? hope you could help me. thanks! @alison1327 Yeah, me too! I still need to look for funds. Do you know if @khent has applied already? I would just like to find out the kind of questions they ask during the embassy interview. I would feel more confident applying if he could give me pointers. Visa consultancy fees are so overpriced!

Why would you like to leave Australia? Given a chance, I'd rather work and live there Anyway, you could read up on this: Residence Permit to Learn Norwegian (Skilled Workers) I believe most of the users in this forum is looking at applying for that visa/permit

Also, if you'd like to work as a nurse there, just like other countries, your curriculum must be assessed first if it is at par with Norway's nursing curriculum. You'll also need to apply for a Norwegian healthcareprovider/nurse license (they call it Autorisasjon) you may find more details about it here http://www.sak.no/sites/SAK/english/Sider/default.aspx#.UQlYcORkySo

A lot of people advice to apply for the auxiliary nurse type of license first. Since working as an auxiliary nurse in Norway wouldn't require you to have prior nursing experience. Note though that you'll have to be proficient in the Norwegian language.
