    hello all,

i see a lot of hopes from many people here. let me just tell you a couple of things applying jobs in norway. its no quick way, its not that easy, and you really need to look at the requirements. i see many have high hopes, and i just want to inform about the realities, not crush someones dreams. but let me assure you, if you are lucky enough to get a job in norway, filipino workers, especially nurses, are well respected and have a good reputation. it's just the laws that makes things harder.

here is your main objectives to think about:

    - you need to have a job offer in your specific skilled profession.

    - or you can apply job seeker visa, but you need to show you have over 800 000php in your account to cover your stay while you try to find a job. and i can assure you, if you don't have a very cheap or free place to stay, you will spend a lot of that money just for daily living in the 6 months your job seeker visa is granted. maybe in very rare cases they can allow you to come if you have a sponsor or guarantor, but highly unlikely. then again, who take the chance to guarantee that kinda money for someone, lets be realistic, in norway that's a lot of money too.. also this is a job seeker visa, so if you don't find work, you have to return.

    - you need to speak norwegian, no workplaces in norwegian healthcare use english as a main language.

    - about getting your papers approved as skilled workers, the www.safh.no who is responsible for this, only approve your papers. they don't give you automatically a reason for a visa or a job. it's the hospitals and healthcare places responsibility to hire people who has the correct education and skills.

    - don't use agents or listen to people who wants a lot of money to guarantee you work, it's no easy way and there is no way to pay your way to a job. just read the links below, and look at the other pages there too if interested in other opportunities. there is opportunities here too, even if i sound negative.

    - another thing to think about, is the size of norway, it's 4,7 million people. right now in the official page www.nav.no, there is in this moment about 700 jobs full time for nurses etc. you have to apply together with other norwegians and eu citizens coming.

i've been to the philippines, and i like it there, but when it comes to take advantage of other peoples hopes, i'm not impressed. stay away from agents who promise work in norway quickly.

i refer to these links in english:

For me, this is just my opinion, it may be difficult to work in Norway or to get a visa, or it is hard to learn the language, or we need a total of 800,000 pesos for the show money, etc. All countries have different requirements, and you cannot enter and work to a specific country if you cannot provide those requirements, but still, Filipino nurses are able to manage and make possible ways in order for them to get a work permit, able to learn the language and provide 800,000 pesos. After all, there is no "easy" way to get a work permit or the work itself. One must undergo necessary procedures and that's the reality. It so happened that there is no opportunity for nurses here in the Philippines that's why they were looking for opportunities abroad, be it on saudi, dubai, libya, qatar, norway, canada. etc. One must make a living, not for themselves but for their FAMILIES.. Yes, there is a negative saide, but for me, I will be looking forward to a positive side, after all, God is just beside us, He will never leave us.

    God bless us all nurses.
    Have a nice day ahead.
    =)

    Hi Kae..
I've heard before that the required amount for show money is 107, 000+ NOK, or approximately 108, 000 NOK. I am not very sure of it. Correct me if I am wrong but thats what I've heard. Anyway, can I reach you thru your email or fb? so I can communicate with you well. I hope you will reply to my post. Thanks so much.
    God bless.
