World Registration

Published

Hi, was just wondering if anyone else here is applying as a nurse in Norway??

I am leaving on sept 8 and want to get in touch with other nurses who is planning/hoping to work in Norway..

Please send me an email or pm

Thanks :-)

hi curious-rn,

i guess there is no need for you to change your application to auxiliary nurse since safh is are not made to hire employees but sort of like filtering nurses. based on what i have known, that safh only is granting authorization and we still need to go through another exam to become a registered nurse in norway. basically your employer will just look at your safh response and it is still there decision where they want to assign you but for us new nurses we are going to work in a geriatric facility since we are still learning the language. which is kinda find with me as a first step in going there.

by the way when did you pass your safh documents. they receive my documents last october 27 as i send it through fedex. i was wondering how they will reply. is it through snail mail or an email or a text or a call?

Thanks very much. I send my docs last Sept and received the giro a month after. they will send the "Fakturan" or giro by snail mail.

how about e-mail? is it delivered in your house? im afraid my letters wont be sent here since nobody at home usually. did you have coordination with postal service? :)

do you have an employer or a career broker for Norway? and what region you belong?

Thank God I found this site. I am an RN in the Philippines and also applying as a nurse in Norway. My relative, who presently resides in Oslo (who's not a nurse) and referred me this http://www.safh.no site to read and fill out the forms. I send all the required documents and applied as a General Nurse. I received my Giro last month and paid 1,120 Kroner in the bank. But since almost all the banks don't have this currency(NOK), I just converted it and paid it in dollars. Then I found this site. I noticed that instead of applying as a general nurse, most of you have chose the auxiliary nurse for its the easiest way to get the authorization. Can I still change my application form from general to auxiliary? Do I still have to send back my invoice to SAFH by mail? I hope someone can help me on this. Thank you and God bless.

Hello. When you got your giro, does it have any attachment stating that what you are paying for is the processing of your application as a general nurse? If it does then that's okay however, it will take time. If in case you were denied for general nurse post then you will start the process again (hopefully not) if you want a helsefagarbeider authorisasjon.

For others who have relatives in Norway, try asking them to pay for your giro for a quicker processing.

Try calling the number stated in the giro and ask if you can change your application at this point.

My friend who is working in oslo initially applied for a general nurse after 4 months he was denied, then he reapplied for hjelpeplier post--approved. It took him 10 months total but this is a case to case basis. The best that you can do now is to call safh. Good Luck!

Anyone who wants to share a room with me?I will apply for the visa in January 2012.

Hello windbelle,

My giro is delivered in the address I indicated in my application form. I think you can check the post office from time to time then :) I still don't have an employee for I will be applying for a jobseeker visa.

Hi sendmethere,

Yes, it says Sykepleier. Thanks very much. I already made and send an email stating my intention to change my application from General Nurse to Auxiliary Nurse. I really love this site. very helpful indeed.

hi guys! I am also interested in your topic actually, I am okay with my safh and planning to file a job seeker visa but I am just curious with that sufficient funds needed does it really need to be 6 months in your account??

Hello. :)

Anyone here had experience learning Norsk at FINO agency? :)

Hei igjen.

Thanks so much. I will, of course, try to update every now and then if I know the answers. Let's help fellow nurses.

Kae87 - Stanvanger is close to Oslo however there are more opportunities in Oslo I think since it's larger but yes ramoj_13 (it's yahoo) if you can suggest or refer someone. Thanks a lot. What stage are you at in the processing btw?

Good luck RNurse22. Have patience and you'll get it for sure.

Thanks again!:redbeathe

Stavanger is not close to Oslo, you have to drive for 8 hrs or fly by plane for an hr to get to Oslo from Stavanger (viceversa)

There is a group on facebook : filippinsk sykepleier - good resources, check it out, most members are from Oslo.

Good luck to all applicants.

Good luck to all the applicants, please update us and let us know about

your experiences working in Norway...

Hello. I don't know the answer to this as well.

Were you able to find a room to stay already?

I actually have a relative in norway so I'll be staying there :-))

Hi everyone! I just want to share the documents I sent to safh (all certified true copy & notarized):

- Application form from safh (auxiliary nurse authorisation)

- Passport

- Prc license

- Certification of completion (RN diploma)

- Certification of good standing (current professional status) - can be requested at prc

- Certification of board rating - the one mailed by prc

- BSN (college) diploma

- Transcript of records

- Related learning experience

- Certificate of Employment

I also included *Power of attorney (for my uncle in Norway) to act on my behalf

I sent them to my aunt last Oct 3 then she received it on Oct 12. My uncle mailed it to safh on Oct 14 then he received the giro on Oct 19 & paid on that week. Safh said to wait for 1-4 months for the result. Today (Nov 15) my aunt texted that they already received a confirmation from safh that my application has been approved (helsefagarbeider authorisation).

I'm amaze by the fast processing. I think it also helped that it's my uncle who paid it there.

Thank you so much to those who have helped me with the requirements here! God bless everyone!
