Thank you so much SEACIEL!! Your's is still considered quicK, I think, because someone I know took 9 mos total.

Have you applied for a GENERAL NURSE AUTHORISATION?

I did applied for a general nurse authorisation thinking that if SAFH denied it, they will give me a a license as auxiliary nurse (or whatever they think is right for me) however, I learned from a friend that once SAFH denied my application for the general nurse authorisation, I need to re-apply for auxiliary nurse license meaning do the process of sending documents etc, again. Please advice me if this is true?

Thanks in advance. More blessings!

Hi EVAFONDA.

What did u apply for?general nurse or auxiliary nurse? And what did the SAFH gave you? So, I'm concluding that the processing now is between 4-5 months from the date of initial submission to the release of the results (of course if all necessary documents were sent)?.

Can anyone help me understand this please? Since I applied for general nurse and let's say they/SAFH concluded that I'm only eligible for auxiliary nurse license, are they going to issue auxiliary nurse license? Am I going to send a fresh application (for aux nurse)? Thank you so much.

good day,,

i got my authorization as a helsefagarbeider, now i'm applying as a job seeker in norway to look for a job. may uncle told me that there are jobs as a helsefagarbeider. i was told that i will be studying their language if able to have a job. being a helsefagarbeider, mostly, are not permanent, meaning they work only for a required time (like contractuals).

is it a good move for me to do this? and will i be able to become a nurse there in time if my application allows me to be there? and will the udi give me a working permit?

thank you..

Hi johngmo15,

Have you tried learning norsk whilst in your current country? it will be a definite advantage although not required since it will be the responsibility of your employer to have you study the language however, for you to increase the odds in finding an employer there, you have to let them know that you can already speak, understand, and write the basics.

My aunt also told me that there are a lot of jobs for helsefagarbeider and the like. Use this as your key to become a RN.

have you really applied for helsefagarbeider (since that's what was given to you)? or general nurse? I continue to ask this in this thread but I haven't had a reply yet. I'm worried because I applied for a general nurse authorisation. If it will be denied by SAFH, will they issue a different authorisation/license?or I need to re-apply?

Tak!

hello everyone...just finished reading all the replies..just have a question...do you need a POEA licensed agency to process employment in NOrway? or you will have to spend your own money for plane ticket, housing, etc..?? thank you in advance

there has not been a complete deal and no job order from norway has been reached with POEA. it means that you will shoulder all the application and spend money of your own. if your lucky to have relatives there, it is an advantage.

i think you;have to be fluent in norwegian before they will allow you to work as helsefagarbeider. if your employer will give you atleast 50-100% job (not that sure) you can apply for a working vsa. and also if you wish to be a nurse in norway you have to attend a bridging program but they will only accept students who passed the bergen test or in b2 level. -got that information from an agency in bergen.
