Hi, was just wondering if anyone else here is applying as a nurse in Norway??

I am leaving on sept 8 and want to get in touch with other nurses who is planning/hoping to work in Norway..

Please send me an email or pm

Thanks :-)

@ giftdonna, when I lodged/filed my application 2 months ago, I noticed that the checklist for documents to be submitted has some addendum (additions) now compared before. I was a little bit confused with your comment so I go about to see the new checklist and Item number 6 asks for "documentation of admission to a Norwegian course... " while Item number 9 is "plan for the Norwegian course you will be attending during your stay in Norway." From my understanding, I think its a different thing. When I filed my application, they only asked for 'study plan' but to be safe and not feel sorry later, I strongly suggest that you inquire first from the embassy if item 6 and 9 on the new checklist mean the same thing.

@michayganda, my friend filed her application sometimes in February 2013 and barely less than a month, she got her visa approval. Seems that processing time now is entirely different...just recently checked the processing time for residence permit to learn the Norwegian language, few weeks ago it was 5 months the most, now they changed it to 6 months.

@kree, I got my authorization already from SAFH only last month (June). Effective June 1, I think there is a new policy that you have to pay first the fee, then send the bank receipt along with your documents. Procedures, documents needed, fees and where to send them are all in their website.

@gemsky: thanks for the reply, and congrats to the approval of your authorization. So, what's your next step after that? Going to apply for a jobseeker visa? But my friend who is in Norway told me that jobseeker visa was repealed  Oh, no! That can't be!

true.. no more job seeker visa

@Mitchayganda: That's so sad to hear :( So which visa should we apply then if we got our authorization approved?

my interviewer said that the processing for visa is 2-4 months :)

Thnx Gemsky, il take note on that.

@Kree, you can go through with your application for authorization since you will need it when you apply for a health care job in Norway. Anyways the expiration of the authorization is long enough till you retire :) Also, maybe you can consider other visa if you really want to go. I have been authorize last feb but my documents were lost, but they gave me my id number and they assure to find ways to re-send my documents.

@giftdonna: are you going to apply for residence visa to learn Norwegian language?

my interviewer said that the processing for visa is 2-4 months :)

What visa is that?

residence permit to learn Norwegian language , i was interviewed last july 9 :)

Yes @Kree, Il apply this week.

@karlito: how many weeks or days after you apply to have the interview? :)

Yay, how was it? How much would it cost to apply for the visa, tuition, house rent and etc?

Oh, goodluck! I'm kinda hesitant to apply for residence permit to study Norwegian language cause it will cost me big. But please keep me posted for I might have a change of mind.
