Applying as a nurse in Norway, anyone else?

World Registration

Hi, was just wondering if anyone else here is applying as a nurse in Norway??

I am leaving on sept 8 and want to get in touch with other nurses who is planning/hoping to work in Norway..

Please send me an email or pm

Thanks :-)

i guess as of 2010 or 11, a non-registered nurse ph could no longer apply for hjelpepleier or helsefagarbeider. lucky are those who applied before and now working here.

lastly, we are not allowed to work here as nurses until we passed the nursing exam or nasjonalefag. We also need to pass the norsk prøve 3(language test level3 ) and theres a new rule from høgskole or university where we take nursing course that we must also take and pass the highest language exam which is the bergens test.and then after that, the nasjonalefag or nursing exam. they give examination 3x/year only for the norsk prøve and nursing exam and 2x for bergens same.

Another warning, there are many filipino nurses here who dreamt big and left their careers in the philippines and abroad and were helped by agencies just to get visa and leave the coountry hoping to get a better job here.mostly with student visa but some did not go to school because of high tuition fees.others work as janitors in hotels, schools or houses just to earn money for daily needs.others also are on the streets or parks looking for empty bottles to sell. if you got the student visa, you are allowed to work any king of job but limited to 20hrs/week only. so you are lucky if you can work max 20hrs/week. do not be so enticed by the good words from the agencies because employers here hire workers directly and do not negotiate with agencies esp in the phils. recently, before the phil embassy here in oslo released their statement concerning agencies in the philippines, we called the attention of a certain agency called Global Pinoy Consultancy because they were misleading and misinforming our fellow filipino nurses.

I got lazy to do a backread because of the lenght of the page on the thread but ill just answer the basic questions here. let me clear all the questions re: autorisasjon som hjelpepleier and helsefagarbeider. anyone who has an autorisasjon som hjelpepleier could notice that the expiration is after 2 or 3 years and you need to renew the autorisasjon while the ones with autorisasjon som helsefagarbeider will expire during their retirement age of 65 as calculated by safh. my friends who have autorisasjon som hjelpepleier applied for the helsefagarbeider bec of its expiration. With regards to type of work, the item helsefagarbeider is higher than a hjelpepleier and is paid higher than a hjelpepleier. Anybody from norway or from EU could work as hjelpepleier even without any education in medical course but they can not work as helsefagarbeider unless they undergo a 2yr helsefagarbeider study. A helsefagarbeider could administer medicines but not the hjelpepleier.Case is, a hjelpepleier can not apply for the item as helsefagarbeider but the helsefagarbeider can apply for a hjelpepleier item.

one thing more.re: norwegian schools sa philippines are not acknowledged by the norwegian govt regardless of how good they are or how much youve learned from them.still you need to prove you are good by passing the norwegian language exam3. take it as your advantage in learning the language but i guess these schools charge you so much and is really a pain in the pocket.and beware to these schools without business operation permits they might collect your money and just might just leave you without you knowing it.still be cautious especially they know that this is an easy money.

I'm planning to work in Norway. I'm an RN and was wondering if it's possible to work there without any hospital experience? what position in the health care sector should I apply?

oh I see.. Is it easier for me to work there especially that I know someone who lives there and offered me housing? and Is it possible to work as a helsefagarbeider without any hospital experience?? :) pls reply~

I cant say that it is easy for you to find a job here even if you know someone here because of many factors(pls refer to my first post on the previois page). I can say that it is an andvantage to you because you wont be spending much for your house rent. Re: experience, they dont really require hospital experience but still and I it is better if you have an experience there in the Phils. It is more likely that the employers will hire you if you have an experience than the ones without any, unless that person is a newly grad cum laude or an educator.

hello. just want to know if someone here applied for a visa to learn norwegian... mid february 2013? and do u have any updates? do u have it approved already? thank you in advance.

hi everyone..im bound to go to norway by april..does anyone know room share/rent preferably stavanger or alesund area?thank u.

You can check finn.no lists of apartments for rent. They dont allow room sharing here unlike in the phils that we have bedspace or room for rents. Every single room is only alloted for a single person or a couple and everything has an insurance here. You are also obliged to register to the folkeregister after you have already found a place to stay.if someone offered you room sharing then that is illegal. Expect also to pay atleast 3,500kroner for the monthly pay and a 3month deposit.and usually you have a 6mo-3yr rent contract.
