Applying as a nurse in Norway, anyone else?

Hi, was just wondering if anyone else here is applying as a nurse in Norway??

I am leaving on sept 8 and want to get in touch with other nurses who is planning/hoping to work in Norway..

unlike their program for canada, they didnt promise any job for us in norway.

i paid half of the total fees already (50k), im just really hoping for the best.

if you dont mind me asking, may i know how much is one world immigration asking you for their services (including processing fees)?

the visa im applying for is resident permit for skilled workers (to learn norwegian langauge). basically, it's like a student visa. we would study for at least 6 months(to 1year) before we could take the langauge exam in norway ( no tuition fee). this is what the agency said, and also according to the articles ive read.

Residence Permit to Learn Norwegian (Skilled Workers)

although the philippine embassy has not advised to take norwegian classes here, i still enrolled in a beginners class so i could go into the battlefield with a few bullets..=)

I haven't inquired nor attended their seminar/orientation that's why I don't have any ideas regarding the fees. but based from what I usually read here, they offer assistance on application for you to go in Norway. as far as i know, you have to study first their language because universities needs you to be fluent in Norsk to do the 3-week bridging. You need a certificate of fluency. From what I've read here before, they would apply for a job seekers visa/tourist visa at the Norwegian Embassy in Makati and apply for "Hjelpepleier autorisasjon" (Auxillary Nurse) for they might just change Philippine license to Hjelpepleier autorisasjon without any other requirement but the language (correct me if I'm wrong, I got interested here before and this is what I understand, feel free to correct me if I am wrong in any way :D )

to my understanding, it really is a requirement to be proficient in norsk if you're applying for the jobseekers visa. as for the residence permit to learn norwegian langaugae (for skilled workers), as the name of the permit implies, we can learn the langauge during our stay there (given that the applicant is a skilled worker or with SAFH authorization already)..

im actually still waiting for the SAFH authorization (processing time is 3 months) before i could apply for a visa..

Hi, everyone...

I would like to ask if anyone knows if there is any limitation regarding the time of getting authorization from SAFH to work as general nurse and the real time of coming in Norway and working. I mean if i get the authorization and i don't come immediately to work in Norway (maybe some months or a year later) did i have to sent them again some certifications such as "Certificate of Current Professional Status" or any recent employers' confirmations of working experience?

Hi guys! I've learned a lot from this thread. I would like to ask, is it really necessary to be in a consultancy to apply as a nurse in Norway?

Actually, my sister is planning to apply in Norway(Learning Norwegian Language). I already saw the requirements that are needed and she have all of them except for the proof of housing. Unfortunately, we do not have any relatives there. I was planning to just financially support her and have her rent a room/apartment during her first few months until she gets a job and be able to support herself.

Hi piorf! I think it is not necessary to work with a consultancy but they can help in terms of airport pick-up and providing a place to stay. I am also going to process on my own, currently studying Norwegian language before I apply for SAFH.

Guys, is it true that you cannot work full-time in Norway, even for HCAs, unless we pass their language exam? And to nurses who are already in Norway, approximately how much is the tuition fee for language schools in Oslo, Stavanger and/or Bergen?

Hi,

From what I understand, it is best to apply for SAFH auxiliary nurse authorisation rather than sykepleier since one has to take language and bridging program first before being authorized as a nurse in Norway.

Since I am not applying for nurse (only auxiliary), do I have to take the local nursing board exams here in the Philippines or would my diploma, RLE, TOR, etc suffice? Since a PRC license is not recognized in Norway, can I proceed to applying for Helsefagarbeider or hjelpepleier authorization without having to take local board exams? Thanks!

As far as i know wether you are underboard u can also apply as an auxialiary nurse. I asked this with the agency and they said license is not required. U can reconfirm for those who have processed their papers.:)

Hi. I'm also from Cebu and I've attended the orientation from Global Summit.. haven't decided yet if i should go for it. Do you know anyone who have successfully processed their application to this Norway thingy?

Hi to all.

Just to remind some of here who wishes to consult an agency, or consulted already an agency and payed for it. This is just a news in Norway: Hentet sykepleiere via møbelfirma

Maybe some of here have not read this or some already knew about it.

Since as the Norwegian embassy said, they have never been authorized any consulting firms. So just to be a little bit concern to some Pinoy Nurses, I hope this article will help you. If you want to pursue of going to Norway, just do it yourself. Just a little bit reminder.
