i knew of the recent vt denials and just as of yesterday my friend's letter of rejection from az, same as ca bon's reason.

let's all thank our ched, prc and pna for doing a "great" job of not meeting the states minimum educational requirements.

i'm sure that this will also affect other countries not just those from phil.

"ony those states that have explicit education requirements of concurrent theory and practicum will philippine nurses have licensure issues.

excellsior college new york nursing graduates have had same issue recently. see state board licensure requirements here

these are states having concerns over concurrent therory and practicum, so i would look at other 37 states to obtain license:

alabama

arizona

california

georgia

illinois

kansas

louisiana

maryland

north dakota

oklahoma

vermont

virginia

washington "

DC isn't a state, so I think it's safe to say that the list refers to the state of Washington...

Is it Washington state or Dc?
hi, one of my friends called new york and new jersey Board of Nursing just last week for inquiries about their requirements then unfortunately, they started to add the requirements that the california and the other 12 states have... (just sharing) so that means there are 15 states that have the same concurrency issues...

Is this confirmed???? Darn, I just applied for CES report for NJ 10 minutes ago. :(

Hi! Anyone from Virginia?or filipino immigrants aspiring to get a VA RN license? I took the NCLEX with CA BON 3 years ago and my case has been abandoned. They advised me to reapply, which means submitting all documents I have submitted before but no need to take the exam. I have fear on continuing this step since I have a batchmate that was turned down to take the NCLEX. Will they review my files again, and be affected by this concurrency issues or I'm thinking why I have to go through this when they have already found me eligible before. Any help is appreciated. God bless.

There have been some instances where people were eligible the first time, but failed the NCLEX; so, when they reapplied to take the NCLEX again, they encountered the concurrency issue. Granted, in your case, you can always try again, since it is up to the Board.

However, if you are already in VA, why not apply and work and live there?

Good luck!

Thank you! Yes, I called the VA Board of Nursing and they asked me to complete the process in getting my license in CA and then endorse it to them. What I am avoiding is taking an exam again. :)))

I think I will resubmit my papers and wait if Cali will give me a license.

Some said that the concurrence issue happens only to those who will take the exam and since I have passed the exam they don't think I have to go through eligibility screening.

uh oh..this is just going insane..

Is New York still safe? Im from the Philippines and now staying in CA and an NCLEX passer of New Mexico. I am planning to endorse my license to New York. I just want to know if there will be any problem endorsing my license to NY. Thanks

Hi Theking04

i'm pretty sure that NY is one of the state that is too facing the concurrency issues. sorry

Has anyone experienced the concurrency issue when endorsing a license from another state to California?

If you endorse your license to California, you will need to process a new application. So they might ask you some requirements again. Its up to the Board if they will or not approve your endorsement.

You still need to meet the same requirements if you are endorsing from another state.

The California board will still look at your educational background no matter what. So the concurrency issue might be a problem in the event that your education does not meet California's requirements.
