Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner Liability Policy Requirement

  1. 0
    hello,

if anyone wisconsin nurse practitioners (advanced practice nurse prescribers) are out the forum, i would appreciate any feedback as i go through the licensure endorsement process.

i'm a fnp and may relocate to the state of wisconsin. according to the wisconsin department and regulation and licensing, advanced practice nurse prescribers must show proof of a liability policy ($1,000,000 for each occurrence and $3,000,000 for total occurrences). so here are my two questions:
    1. if i'm only going to work part-time (less than 20 hours), will a part-time malpractice/liability policy be sufficient for the department and regulation and licensing?
    2. if i'm only seeing adults (although i’m a fnp), will the state accept an np “adults only” malpractice policy?

by purchasing a part-time liability policy, i’ll save approximately $600 a year. thanks in advance for any help!

Thank you Zenman for your reply, however; I went down that road and reached a dead end. The Department of Regulation and Licensing were unable to answer the questions.

So let me better clarify my questions, specifically for individuals that may have encountered a similar situation:
Has anyone successfully received the advanced practice nurse prescriber license in the state of Wisconsin that:
    1. Submitted a copy of a part-time malpractice/liability policy with their licensure application and/or
    2. Submitted a copy of a malpractice/liability policy specific to a patient population?

    Thanks for any feedback!

On one hand I'm shocked they don't know, but on the other hand I'm not, lol.
