University of Phoenix?

I have not heard good things about them...from students. They are regarded as a diploma mill.

From personal experience, the UOP is a good school, and has a 98-100% pass rate on the 1st try for the certification test. The instructors are very knowledgable. I would recommend them. Of course though, you always have to remember with anything, in any aspect of life, especially message boards, that the majority of posts are going to be negative, that is why people post, to spread the "bad word". For this question though, I would recommend them. They have a classroom based program, not online. Very informative and lots of information covered.

I did my BSN completion as well as an MSN in management and leadership (nonclinical MSN) with UofP. They are fully accredited and my degrees have been well-regarded. I have not had any problems. With that, I did consider the FNP program but from their website, it looks like it is a brick and mortar school and unfortunately, I don't live anywhere near any of the campuses.

See Revolution, here's an example of their grads. I understood you to say that you wanted comments, some of which might be positive and some negative. I was spreading the "bad" word" because that's mostly what I've heard from this program...and not just from nursing.

You can just look at their ads and see what impression you get...

AVOID them at all cost...This school is a diploma mill. My sister a high school drop out was recruited by them promised that they would help her get a GED but never did. She continues to take classes and was called by the dept of education and asked if she was a GED recipient or HS grad and if she was not she should not be able to recieve Federal Student grants. The Fin-Aid Dept. at UOP misled her and now she owes $5,000 to them thanks to UOP she is filing a mass law suit. She has 7 other students that do not have a High school education that continues at UOP her lawyer said this was a big deal. So watch out they are all about getting money. in fact where i worked previously said they would never hire a UOP grad. And they will have their people sign up for vrious sites and mislead interested people and tell them lies. I know for a fact my husband used to work for UOP to strong arm students and give harrassing phone calls. Well he was fired and he sued and they just paid for our new car. the school is a JOKE...go some place with a respected reputation. call local hospitals ask fellow nurses. just stay away fom this school. the University of phoenix has a horrible reputation. I do no know why they are still around. They should be called the University of Profit.

Does anyone know anything about University of Phoenix FNP program?
I know that most UoP's programs are geared towards 'working adults'. I'd love to hear anyone's comments on the school and program.

All I can say is I did my BSN and MSN with UofP and though the advisors seemed to change often, I had an excellent learning experience. I did not do a clinical program with them. However, my degrees have always been accepted and I finished a post-MSN adult health CNS without any problems.

Yes. I beleive it. I think too it may depend on where you attend the campus. I just know of far to many that are unhappy. Now, Im sure there are success stories there. I have heard working adults that are already in a career and have used their degree to get promoted this is the most common and probley the safest bet with this school because your employer already knows you etc. I am just warning those who go in wide eyed and bushy tailed thinking they're coming out of this program a Top Nurse making a CRNA salary like UOP likes to portray things. Congrats on your success you would have probley been a success at any college UOP is just lousy and dishonest I cannot stand that.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Thanks for your kind words. I agree that as a degree completion program, it works well. For beginning nursing education though, I would want brick and mortar school.
