I've been to All Nursing Schools, but I notice that it doens't include all programs, at least not all ACNP programs--it excluded Loyola and Vanderbuilt.

Is there any resource out there that's more complete?

Joe:

According to the American Assocation of Colleges of Nursing, there were over 330 accredited MSN programs in Fall 2007. With this large a number, my guess that the list changes weekly (with new programs created, other closed, etc).

All Nursing Schools is a for-profit site --- schools pay a large fee to be listed there. With budget cutbacks, many schools may have decided not to pay to advertise there. We will likely be discontinuing our advertising subscription with All Nursing Schools.com when it expires in June.

I looked on the websites for the AACN as well as for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF), and I cannot locate an exhaustive list of all NP programs in the country.

Go to the webstie AANP (American Association of Nurse Practioners) and click on "Research /Education." The next screen will allow you to highlight which specialty and state you are interested. The next screen displays a listing of schools with the webste link. I have found the site very helpful and easy to navigate.

check out : american academy of nurse practitioners website:

nurse practitioner preparation

entry-level preparation of the nurse practitioner is at the graduate level. didactic and clinical courses prepare nurses with specialized knowledge and clinical competency to practice in primary care, acute care and long term care. self-directed continued learning and professional development beyond the formal advanced education are essential to maintain clinical competency.

AACN.

Specializes in ACNP-BC, Adult Critical Care, Cardiology.

The AANP link that NRSKarenRN posted is by far the most reliable. However, be aware that even that link is not completely accurate. For instance, Michigan ACNP and NNP programs are listed incorrectly.
