Hello :-) Had a question for any pediatric NP's out there. I'm interested in what types of setting you are working (or have worked). Is it mainly general pediatrics offices, speciality offices (ENT, endocrine, etc), or in-hospital settings? I'm also interested in how your job duties vary depending on the type of place you're working. Thanks so much in advance!

Hi! I am a PNP and have been for 3 years. I work in Urology in a children's hospital. I cover primarily outpatient but do cover inpatients as well. The roles you can be in will really be dependant on where you are. In my hospital, they utilize PNP's in every speciality and multiples roles. They are also used in primary care as well. I have been around other places that they restrict their PNP's to primary care.
I love the role and specialty that I am in. I liked primary care but I am more challenged in a specialty area and suits me better.
You can send me a message if you have more specific questions.

At the hospital where I work, they use PNP's to staff the PICU and peds intermediate units round the clock. They also have resident coverage so they do have back-up. Its a large level one trauma center with a 20 bed PICU and 10 bed intermediate peds unit as well as a 50 bed general peds floor.
