by bayouchick02 Oct 6, '12So my exam is in a few days, and as I prepare, I am freaking out big time! it's to the point where I can only sleep in short spurts, and I have to force myself to eat because my nerves are so bad! I guess I'm so nervous because I dont really know what to expect on the exam. I've been doing lots of review questions from Fitzgerald (listened to her CDs and went through her entire review book), Hollier's Q&A book (even though many of the questions were repetitive), in addition to the familynpprep.com questions too. I am seeing a lot of health policy, theory, and some research type of questions on that website; I was under the impression that the AANP does not really test on that. For those of you who have taken the AANP exam, did you find some theory/research/health policy questions on there in addition to the clinical stuff? If so, where is a good place to review that information?
Thanks! (I feel like I'm going in sane here!)

I took the AANP ANP exam three weeks ago and I passed in the first time. In the exam, there are a lot of clinical based questions and I only had less than 5 questions non-clinicially. If you did the questions from the Margret Fizg..( I forgot how to spell her name), the questions typed are almost the same as that from her review questions books. If you work very hard for the clinical based questions, I am sure you will be fine. Good luck and waiting for your good news. - Oct 11, '12 by bayouchick02Quote from cymphillyYes, I passed my exam yesterday! I think I only had one non clinical based question. I studied using Fitzgerald like you said and did fine. Thanks for responding! I'm so glad that part of my life is now over!! I can have a life again!! :-)Hi bayouchick02

I did Fitz review live, Hollier's CDs, and both of those in review books.. I took mine this week, did the FNP prep.com or whatever it was, and kept getting discouraged, so I took AANP's review test on their site. So glad to say I passed!!manhow likes this.

- Oct 14, '12 by UMAshtangiIf you're getting 90% then you'll own this test! My good thoughts are going your way!
I'm hoping to schedule my AANP exam the last week of November or first week of December. I'm a bit nervous though...I'm doing the APEA and Fitz Cds, and I went to the live Kellerman workshop. I have the question books from APEA, Fitz, and Kellerman. With APEA and Kellerman i'm getting about 70% right, and the Fitz questions seem REALLY hard and many geared toward actue care practice.
I talked with a few NPs and they said they were getting about 70% right when they passed. Kellerman said that we're ready when we're getting about 77-80%. Any thoughts on this?
I find that one of my weaker points is theory (what theorist says blah blah blah), and issues (what is medicare part A, B, etc). Will we see any of these on AANP or only on ANCC?
Thanks everyone! -
