    Anyone in the process of job hunting? I just finished my FNP program. Taking boards next week. I have been interviewing all over. I am consistently finding a lack of orientation. My biggest fear is to be thrown into a full patient load on day one. I know this happens. Trying to decide if I want to do ER. That is my RN background. I know it pays very well and the hours are flexible, but I am nervous to perform new tasks like suturing etc. without a good orientation. I guess I am just looking for any direction or advice for a new FNP with over a decade do ER experience looking for a good part time gig. I have no idea what I'm doing!!

    Orientation is the key to success. My RN background was 10 yrs level one trauma center and two yrs adult ICU. I would ask for minimum 3 months orientation in ER with a more experienced midlevel or MD. For primary care, I would think a month orientation and then some type of graduated appts. Like maybe 5 pts per day, then 6 and so on. I went into nephrology and had 5 months orientation. It took that long to get all the credentialing done
