Do recruiters even read your resume?

I have my resume posted on a number of job sites. I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten emails from recruiters saying "We have this job that we believe will be a perfect fit for you!" when it turns out they're looking for an FNP or PMHNP and I am a pediatric NP. Do they just send these out at random? Do they not know the difference between NP specialties?

Specializes in ACNP-BC, Adult Critical Care, Cardiology.

I think recruiters collect emails from NPs and don't bother to look at qualifications then send out opportunities randomly. I still get multiple emails and cards from recruiters telling me about jobs that 1. I don't care to have or 2. I am not qualified to do. One particular job opening states, "live in sunny California in a small town with good old fashioned family values"...umm, I live in San Francisco where alternative family values are not frowned upon and I'm happy with that, thank you very much.

Specializes in CCM, PHN.

I'm surprised at your naïveté. No; rarely are resumés posted to online sites read by any human being. The "recruiters" you're getting emails from are just spambots that generated automated responses based on algorithmic search terms and scans for keywords. It has been that way for many websites, job agencies and organizations for quite some time. Robots are in charge now!
