California furnishing license

I have been offered a job in California. I'm currently licensed in Kansas and have 1 year of experience. I'm very worried however about being able to get a furnishing number in California since I last too my Pharmacology course in Spring of 2011 and it has been 5 years and 3 months. On the furnishing number application it says over 5 years old at the time of application will not be excepted otherwise, you would have to have 5 years of experience prescribing. Does this mean that I will not be able to get a furnishing number until I retake the course again or is it ok since it has not been 6 years? Please help!!

I would assume based on the rules in California that your best bet is to retake the Advanced Pharmacology course. If you took the course in Spring 2011, did that mean that you finished your program at a slower pace than usual since you only have a year of NP experience which makes me think you graduated a year ago? Sorry, you're having problems. California has rules not seen in other states.

Yes. I did take classes part-time so it took me longer to get done. Also, took a year out. The advanced pharm class was the first class I took. I have a job waiting on me so will not have time to retake a pharm class and have already applied for my license in California. Just waiting at this point. Technically, this would be the fifth year, so I was hoping that they would accept it. Anyone know of a faster pharm class I can take? Or should I just turn the job down. I don't see how I can work if I cannot order anything? Any other ideas?

You can call the BRN and ask someone what you should do. It is hard to get in touch with a person but with some persistence, you may get through. If you want this job, you could also tell the employer that you may have to delay your start time until you can get the Furnishing License ironed out.
