billing for nurse practitioners
- 0Oct 13, '11 by ulnurse11I am a nurse practitioner with a medicare provider #. I was wondering if there is a way to hire RNs to perform home visits and bill under my provider # for my new business, without being a home health agency.

As a nurse practitioner, your NPI number is your own numeric identifier used to file claims for billable services you performed in the process of providing care to your patients. Entities, such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, labs, nursing facilities, home care agencies also have assigned NPI numbers as an organization. This is not the same NPI number assigned to individual providers.
