I think I am seriously crazy. I have a month off from my NP program for the winter, and on my days off from work, I really don't know what to do with myself. Sure, I clean the house and relax and read for fun and watch movies, but then I get bored after like an hour of that! And of course most of my friends are non-nurses, so they work during normal hours during the week, and are not around when i'm bored! :) I kept saying during the semester how tired and overwhelmed I was, and now that I have free time, it's driving me crazy. :)

What you describe sounds like heaven to me! I will spend winter break writing my thesis. No other time to do it. It's making me antsy because I'm worried I won't finish. I like your kind of antsy a lot better.

There are also piles of journals everywhere and things I intended to look up after clinical but have not. How to dx rheumatoid arthritis? How to evaluate extrapulmonary TB? If I had some free time, that's what I would do. Either that, or hang out in my pj's and re-read Lord of the Rings.

Enjoy your break!

I feel the same way! It's only been a week since I took finals and I'm not knowing what to do with myself. I think because "school mode" is a constant go go go type of mode for such a long time that when we get a break we are lost. I've decided to redo my guest room, put in some new landscaping, pressure wash the driveway and seal it, lots of things around the house that have been neglected for so long. I just can't seem to sit still! I blame it on school, lol.

All I want to say is enjoy it. I can't imagine that you have kids. BUt one thing I did regreated after I had my two kids was not appreciating and enjoying the times of my life I had nothing to do. SLEEP! because once you have kids you never do. LOL! I use to think I had no time for Nursing school when I was doing my BSN. OH boy, now that I have kids I really have no time. Life gets harder. Enjoy it believe me you will thank me.

As one of the previous post pointed out if you are a type of person that likes school then read up! Learn as much as you can on your own. It will keep you bussy. Good luck and enjoy

No, we don't have any kids yet. :) I know I must sound crazy-I think I was really just so used to constantly being on the go and having to be somewhere every second of the day, that I feel so strange now on vacation. I watched so many Lifetime movies yesterday! :) lol I am going to try to do some reading this week. Today I am going in to work and I have to say I am very excited! My co-workers are going to think I'm crazy too !:)

I'm completely antsy! School is over and I have all this free time on my hands!

I'm currently focused on making sure my school has all the paperwork for my Spring preceptor on hand, but once that's over....

So far, I've decided to work extra hours and clean the house. I bought a new carpet cleaner that should keep me busy for a few days. Heh. I even cleaned out the attic and donated a ton of stuff to the local Humane Society thrift shop.

Maybe I should get a head start on my assignments... :lol2:
