I am the clinical manager of a 26 bed OR. We are having a problem with not having enough scrubs
for our employees to wear daily. Our hospital has spent $65,000.00 in replacement scrubs last year. It seems everyone in the hospital and outside are wearing scrubs. We are considering the scrub clothes vending machines, but are not sure of the pros and cons. We are also considering changing the policy to allow employees to home launder scrub clothes. This is against AORN's recommended practices, but we are becoming desperate. Any ideas or suggestions would help.
