Over the summer I was given the wonderful opportunity to work in a large, local hospital's OR as a student intern and then stay on until I graduated as a student nurse. The goal was to get hired on after I graduated. However, like many hospitals, there are budget cuts looming and it might not work out. In your experience, how likely is it that I can get hired on at another hospital with just the summer and year of student nursing? I obviously can't run a room by myself, but every nurse that I worked with complimented me and said that I was a great help.

If you are just hoping to get into surgical nursing, I'd say your internship would give you a jump on any other new grad RN. You might want to move your question to the OR nursing forum for more opinions.
