Who says that??

  1. So I was working last night in my ED when I get an arrest in, a couple of ICU nurses come down in case we needed help. Well a nurse I used to work with in a different hospital comes down. I say hi and the first thing out of her mouth is "so you got your license back? Ha ha just kidding." I just stood there with my mouth wide open. Excuse me?? My license is pristing, thank you very much. I couldn't even think of anything to say I was so taken aback. Then she rubs my back and asks if I moved down there or was still living in the other town.
I mean, who says things like that? And if it were true it would be even more devastating, but with it being completely false I was just mad. I tend to live with my foot in my mouth and even I can't imagine saying something so rude, mean and unprofessional!
Okay, rant over. Just had to get that out.

OK, now BREATHE! Yes, it was uncalled for, but most likely all in fun. Twisted fun, to be sure, I'm trying as hard as I can to be objective. What a dingaling to say that!

You could have responded with something along the lines of...
"I sure did! Have they reinstated yours yet?"

"Yes, thanks for asking. What ever came of that pesky little morals charge they were giving you such a fit about?"

    Or better still...

"Yep, sure did! Huge mistake. By the by, did they ever identify that fungus you had?"

    Feel better?

I tend to put foot in mouth on a regular basis. What she said was weird, but kind of gives me the feeling that she was trying to put you down in a passive aggressive way. I could be wrong but I would not trust that one.

Oh I don't trust her! Luckily I don't have to deal with her on a regular basis. What a mean wench!
