Register Today!- Apr 7, '12 by OCNRN63Quote from mofomeatWhen it comes to making nurses do stupid arts and crafts poster boards for something that's essentially a marketing tool for the hospital, yes, that I revile. And I do mean that word.I suppose that there are few professions that escape that. "Revile" is a bit of a strong word, possibly.
- Apr 7, '12 by mofomeatQuote from OCNRN63Yes that specifically is worthy of revulsion. I agree. When it comes to making nurses do stupid arts and crafts poster boards for something that's essentially a marketing tool for the hospital, yes, that I revile. And I do mean that word.
- Apr 7, '12 by MerlynQuote from OCNRN63Was there ever a track for this Choo-Choo ?Peep Surgery
Beware of the bright yellow screen. This has absolutely nothing to do with nursing, but hey, we've gone off track before on this thread.wooh likes this. - Apr 7, '12 by diva rnQuote from MerlynYes, there is and I think Ozzie sums it up best with "Crazy Train".........Was there ever a track for this Choo-Choo ?
- Apr 7, '12 by MerlynQuote from OCNRN63Sing it anywhere. I spent months and months in Air Force in Louisiana eating Gumbo for your right to sing that song -ANYWHERE. Even in the Vatican...Oy, I think I just got censor again!Probably not in urology, either.
- Apr 7, '12 by Fiona59Quote from Ladylynn6So, you don't exist in my world. Canada doesn't do associate degrees. You are either a nursing student or someone who is trying to get into a nursing programme.So....this special little snowflake would like to defend my pre-nursing student status. At my school, during pre-requisites my transcript says I'm a Healthcare Science Certificate student with a pre-associate degree nursing concentration. Hence, pre-nursing.
Not to mention the fact I'm special.
And a snowflake.
Because there's no one like me. Even The Scorpions said so in the 80's. (Too obscure?)
Back to the mockery.lindarn and Pepper The Cat like this. - Apr 7, '12 by Blue Felt FedoraQuote from Fiona59That's me. Incognito. So, you don't exist in my world. Canada doesn't do associate degrees. You are either a nursing student or someone who is trying to get into a nursing programme.
An incognito special snowflake shooting for the 2-year associates degree we still have available to us down here in the South, y'all.
Once I say "student" the next question is usually, "What are you studying?" My answer is always either, "I'm planning to apply to the Fall 2013 nursing program," or, if I'm in a hurry, I simply say, "I'm pre-nursing."
I would never call myself a nursing student before actually being accepted into the program. - Apr 7, '12 by NO50FRANNY"gary jules cover of this is waaayyy better than the original by tears for fears. had they been smart, they would have made it like gary jules did. it makes you shiver. (does me, anyway.)"
"they used this song on an episode of closed case a couple of years ago. that was the first i'd head it. then when i went to youtube and heard the tff version of it, i was like, "blech".
i first fell in love with this tune at the end of the movie donnie darko, a personal favourite, the entire soundtrack for the movie is great- some of the lyrics- familiar faces, worn out places, worn out faces- ugh, so dark but sometimes just right when youré in that kind of mood. dj tiesto did a big room trance version of this song and blew the lid off the rave! i am unfortunately a little bit too old for raves now....tewdles likes this. - Apr 8, '12 by Hygiene QueenOkay.
I couldn't hold it in.
I'm not going to quote anybody.
Those who are the culprits know who they are.
There is no way...

The Gary Jules version of "Mad World" is better than Tears for Fears.
No way!!!!
What a bunch of trollops, hussies, harpies and harridans!!!
(p.s. still love this thread)Last edit by Hygiene Queen on Apr 8, '12 : Reason: Gary Jules made me type bad - Apr 8, '12 by NO50FRANNYQuote from Hygiene QueenOkay, so I just listened to the tears for fears version, it is good (but I like tears for fears and grew up in the 80's) so I am going with both good depending on mood- hard core trance version still my favourite but I would agree that I'm a bit of a hussie probably a trollop at least once too... but mostly I prefer Tart.Okay.
