And hey, I am single, so where do I sign up to ride that ride?
So long as you do not mind wearing your "sexy nurse" halloween costume from Fredrick's, I go ahead and get some cellulitis going so that by Friday you will be compelled to have dinner and a movie!
  2. Wow.
  3. If he only knew that even the "ugly" nurses wouldn't come within ten feet of him if they had the choice.

    Gross.

I didn't think it was possible but his personality is even more unappealing than his physical appearance.
  4. Appalling in all types of ways. He watched far too much TV shows while sipping soda and chewing some fried chicken.
    What a clown.
  5. I get annoyed with things like this bc i deal with patients like this almost every single day, however I do get a chuckle bc I can so picture the pt i had today doing that same thing in the picture... HAHAHA. It's not funny, but I cannot help but laugh picturing this
  6. Seriously though, I think that patients probably want a nurse (male or female) that does appear as though they take care of themselves. I can say that I would not like to have a nurse that had not bathed or that was wearing dirty clothing or had matted hair caring for me. I equally would not want a nurse that was too worried about breaking a nail or messing up their shoes trying to help me post op to the toilet risking a fall or strain on a suture line. That being said it is absurd for the media to continue to portray nurses as either sex objects that sleep with the docs or gay men in a "women's" profession. I worked very hard to become a licensed professional and I take it seriously. Despite the imperfections of our patients, we can only continue to try to project nursing as a vital role in the healthcare industry that requires highly educated and specially trained individuals to ensure the best patient outcomes and hospital experiences. We must learn to set boundaries with our patients and their families as much as possible.
  7. I'm just a lowly nursing student, but I do hope that when I do get out there in the field, I'm recognized for my skills as a professional and a nurse, not for my haircut or body.

I wonder, would this DJ rather have a disheveled nurse that isn't a perfect 10 work her/his butt off to save their life or have a sexy nurse that didn't want to get her hands dirty or break a nail? lol!

Exactly what I am saying! I do not give a darn what you look like so long as you can save my life!
Nurse2bKimberly, wooh, and shhhh like this.
  9. There is a difference in being hygienic, groomed and well dressed and being sexy. Big Boy was not concerned about the former, but the latter. Therein lies the problem.

As professionals there are certain standards that need to be met when it comes to appearance. You need to clean be in body and clothing, with no offensive body odor/fragrance, etc. etc. But you don't need to be SEXY.

The idiot had too much time on his hands and not enough pain/illness. How sick you are, I find, is inversely proportional to how much of a whiner/jerk you are.
  10. The important thing is that we're alllll taking his blog post seriously and being offended. By a radio shock jock. Whose job is to make jokes in poor taste.
    SamHill and Old.Timer like this.
