CNA Training in Charlotte, NC

Since this thread has not had any replies in a few days, I moved it over to the North Carolina Nurses forum with the goal of getting more responses.

CNA training are in most community colleges. A goos example are schools such as www.cpcc.edu, whcih have campuses all over charlotte.

I would recommend CPCC in Charlotte. It is A LOT cheaper. But if money isn't an issue there are programs at Carolinas College of Health Sciences---about $400, not including books, uniforms, or the $92 fee it will cost to be added to the NC registry.. At CPCC, I paid $85 for the class, $15 background check, $40 for the CNA book, and I got my all white scrubs on EBAY for $19(including shipping--Dickies Brand). By the way, CPCC offers a special CNA class during the summer for college students, space is limited so you have to apply early. If you have any questions, PM me.

Have you attempted to connect with any of the nursing homes in the Charlotte area? I think they may train some CNA's if there is a need. Good luck.

You should check with convalesant or assisted living facilities.alot of them have classes that the facilities teachs on the job. you work as a Nursing Assistant until you finish training and go thru certification exam

I looked on the CPCC webpage, but I don't know what the CNA training is under, is there a specific name I should be looking for? I really want to become a CNA and I wanted to train in either the winter or summer because I am a current college student.

how long was the cna training at cpcc?

Can't remember off the top of my head...but there is usually a section offered in the summer time only for college students. They only accept a few into it, and it's much faster than the regular one. The couple weeks was online then we transitioned to the classroom for the tests and skills, then clinicals. I would say 6-8 weeks total.
