Weather Related Call-ins

How does the facility where you are employed handle call-ins when the weather is the cause? Do they have a seperate absence policy? Do they mandate staff already present? Do police or other agencies offer to give transportation to staff?
Is overtime calculated fairly? Are meals free? Are clean uniforms supplied? Please identify institution and explain. Heard that weather is never an excuse, no free meals or scrubs, overtime is shorted to nurses. This is surely not the case. Hope it's just a nasty rumor since this winter has been bad at times.
