Moving to Raleigh

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi! I am going to be moving to Raleigh or the surrounding area and was wondering where to start applying. I'm an RN with 3 years experience. Half of that in a sub-acute facility and the other half in more of a LTC/assisted living facility. Both night shifts. The second place, I'm charge nurse, the only nurse in the building at night.

I'd like something similar to what I have been doing. Any suggestions? Where have you heard that provides a good work environment for their employees? And I'm all about teamwork, people have to work well together for it to be a good place to work. Where do people just love to work in the Raleigh area?

Thanks for any suggestions!

You have Duke, Rex (affiliate of UNC), UNC-Chapel Hill, and WakeMed-and their satellite facilities. within a 30ish minute drive of Raleigh (depending on what part of Raleigh you live in). All are fine hospitals and I know people that work at all and are happy. It would be an individual fit, I would think. All are hiring. UNC has the burn unit, WakeMed is know for its Peds ED and Cardiac center, Duke has a ton of specialties, and the satellite facilities (one in Durham and one in Raleigh) are smaller and have a more community feel. Rex is a Magnet non-teaching facility. The top 3 are all Level 1 trauma centers. Duke and UNC have the best NICU. Its wide open here.
