I was wondering who on here was doing the new curriculum after October 1st. I just took the first nursing exam: Essentials in health care safety and applied to the school. I automatically get credit for exam 2 because I am a LPN. They have to evaluate my transcripts before I take the third test. Write back if you are.

Hi - I am doing the new curriculum - I am currently studying for Health differences

Hello,

Yes I am under the new curriculum as well. I took the first test and like you waive the 2nd and now I'm studying for the 3rd. How far are you now?

I am studying for Health Difference 2 and the information is kicking my you know what! I am slowly dissecting each subject and plan to take it March 17 if all goes well.

are u studying from the book and the study guide - i have some notes from other students if that would help u. My biggest question is are all these lab values going to be on there?

Which test are you refering to? HD2? I'm sure Lithium levels will be on there but I don't suspect there will be alot. What part of NC do you live?

I am preparing for Essentials in Nursing care:Health differences - I believe it was formerly NC2 - it covers nutrition, fluid and electrolyte balances, oxygenation, etc., - I am in Louisiana. - I believe you might be one test ahead of me. I do, however, have notes from other excelsior students on the test you are taking -

Oh I see. I'm on HD2(Aka NC5). I don't have anything on HD because I didn't have to take that one because I was an LPN. HD2 is the test that alot of people seem to fail. If you have anything that would be beneficial I would love to have it. The only thing that I caution is that because we are under the new curriculum, the test arrangements have changed quite a bit. So some of the NC study notes off Yahoo and other sites are a little off. I really suggest looking at the study guide because our curriculumn is quite different in arrangement. Good Luck and PM me if your have anymore questions.

My husband is enrolled in Excelsior, and is going to take the first test Essentials of Nursing care:Health Safety. I was wondering how difficult this test was? He did the practice exams are they anything like the real tests? Any information would be great. Also any Info on test 3 Chronicity would be great such as good places for study materials or good books.

Thanks

I didn't think essentials was all that hard but believe it or not, people fail that exam all the time. It is very similar to the practice exams. There are a few questions word for word on that. All the exam are difficult if you ask me but the hardest by far is Health difference 2. A lot of people fail that one too. I get a lot of help from the Yahoo files. Good Luck.
