How long does endorsement take?

Has anyone here had their license endorsed to work in NC? (after having an RN license in another state thats not a compact state) I wasn't sure how soon I should start the endorsement process. I'm planning to move to Raleigh in September. And I can't even apply for jobs until I have some sort of NC license. And I know I can get a temporary license for 6 months but if it expires and the NC license endorsement process isn't complete then I won't have any license at all. So if anyone could give me any idea on how long the process takes, I would greatly appreciate it.
