New to allnurses.com but, I just applied for Nursing School at GTCC and I am so anxious to find out what points are getting accepted! Just wondering how many have applied and what their point range was? That Tea's V was a butt Kicker for me! So anxious to get a letter!

Hello to everyone new to the conversation and congrats on applying :) I'm a little confused about the teas v comment.. Are you saying they are dropping the pass rate for those who applied to the fall 12 semester ?

Waiting patiently... You can do it just believe in it:) I don't have three kids but I do have a little Girl who will be two in April and a husband who also work 5 to 6 days a week.. He leaves at 8 am and a early night is 9:30 pm if Im lucky but it alows me to go to school without working. So I only have one little Girl but I can't relate to the felling of not knowing how you are going to get through it but you will bec we are tough mommas who strive to do better for our childern:) be proud of yourself and don't listen to others who ask you the question how ? Or answer and say because I'm stronger than most haha. Good luck

Hello to all those who are new to the conversation and welcome to our anxiety pool! My thoughts on them lowering the TEAS score pass rate is that if they do that, they will probably do it for subsequent semesters. I think they would anger some people changing it mid-application because some people may have given up on GTCC and applied elsewhere based on their scores when their preference was GTCC. We shall see...

I think WaitingPatiently2012 has some awesome points and score on the TEAS! Probably sure to get accepted. Although, when I see someone like you with such high points and scores I get more nervous that mine aren't good enough..ha, ha, ha. Congratulations!

The wait is torturing me! Thank goodness we have this forum to vent our anxiety on!

Well I just talked to a friend who's sister is in the nursing program to ask her about then dropping the pass rate lower and she said they did bec not enough pplPassed to fill the seats ? Idk again it's all hear say so I really don't even know what think but she said that came straight from one of the instructors

Victoria, I hope they will put the applicants that passed the Teas test before applicants with higher MAR points and not passing it with a 66? I would think it would be a little unfair.... Either way, that would be good news for us?! haha :)

I love gtcc and feel I would get great training to be a nurse if I can go there! But i just don't see how it is fair if they did lower it and the ppl who passed like me with only 42 points get booted out bec they decided after deadline to lower the pass grade? I would of waited untill I had the points from this semester to apply and wouldn't be behind in my studies from busting my butt to study the teas material Ps. Sorry if there are a lot of missed spelled words and run On sentences and etc... I usually respond from my phone and its auto correct and I do not get along lol

I agree 100%....if anything they will either accept all applicants who passed the Teas test then accept those with the highest MAR points or accept those with the highest Teas scores that are not passing...... Who knows. It would definitely sadden me if they did boot us out just because of lowering the score...esp AFTER due date like you said and it did put me behind in my studies as well because I studied HARD for that teas exam. Taking 5 classes (3 being sciences) AND studying for that exam almost broke me. haha

I agree, I really hope those of us that passed the teas get accepted first, because we worked hard to pass that dang teas test!! It seems like the only fair way to do it, if they are going to do it. And I'm like ya'll, my grades have dropped thanks to studying so much for the teas and taking the CNA state board, and trying to get everything in by the deadline.

Anyone remember the name of the man who did the info sessions? I'd email/call him and ask since he was the director of admissions and would be the best source of info about this TEAS V thing. It doesn't seem plausible to change the requirements after the due date, and, if they did, I'd assume they would accept those who passed and fill the remaining seats with those who came closest to the score and have the highest MARs.

I agree. If they can't fill all the seats then they should def. consider the people who passed the TEAS first before considering the people who have high MAR points but did not pass the TEAS. Not to be bias or unfair, but if you have such high MAR scores, then you should of been able to pass the TEAS with at least a 66%. If you studied the ATI book, and carefully attempted to do the TEAS test then you should be able to get at least 66% or higher.

Hi Guys great forum!! From what I've seen from previous classmates they have gotten in with 40s so I'm sure you guys are set! Does anyone know what the past ranking points have been for FTCC? Hi Victoria!! =)

Also I think alot of people including myself would be highly upset if teas scores were suddenly not a factor.. I didn't think I would get my cna testing and teas V taken in time. If that were the case, I would have applied instead of waiting till the Fall!!
