U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi everyone. I haven't found a thread for this topic yet, so I decided to start one. Who else submitted their application on Feb 1st for the various new grad positions at Duke?

nurse213- Duke New Grad positions (some SNIP and some CNI) open around the 25th of every month (a different list goes up each time depending on which units are hiring). Just fyi! :)

Oh awesome! Thank you (:

I got the job too. What units are you in? And when do you start?

Hi everyone! I just started as a CNI at Duke University Hospital and am in the SNIP program. If anyone has any questions about the process or the hospital just let me know! I think I heard back a week or two after applying that my resume had been forwarded to the manager and then was scheduled for an interview soon after that. The time it takes to hear back after the interview depends a lot on the unit. I have heard of people who heard, informally, during the interview or soon after and others who it took a week or more to hear back. Just depends on how many people are being interview and things. Starting salary for CNI's is 20.74/hour with decent differentials of about 4 dollars for nights or weekends, so about 8.50 for weekend nights, plus, great benefits. All CNI's will be part of the nurse residency program and the two main things about the SNIP program are that you get a 26 week orientation and have to sign a two year contract. Good luck!

Also, if you do get the job I recommend exploring the cities around Durham some when you are looking for an apartment so you can find a town that is a good fit for you.

Just accepted a SNIP position this week with a start in February. So pumped! :) Congrats to everyone!

What unit?

esf08001 I just accepted a SNIP position in the MICU as well! How are you liking it?? I will be relocating from MI and have several questions about the Durham area if you wouldn't mind answering them for me? :)

I just had an interview for the SICU this past week, and I felt great about the interview. The staff was wonderful, and the manager was really nice too. I am hoping to get a call back this week. I will be coming in from out of state for this job, but I am really looking forward to the opportunity.

BobbyDoe, I believe SICU is MICU's sister unit (?) I may be wrong but if so I could be seeing you around! Congratulations!

Can anyone message me the phone number of the human resource office please? I applied on Nov. 26th and I did not hear from them anything yet. Are they still interviewing?
