Hi everyone!! :]

I looked for a thread for this program and didn't come across one, so I figured I start it!

I live in the Richlands area and received my acceptance package today. I received an email from the school on Friday saying they mailed the decision packages out, but I was super surprised it came so fast.

Good luck to everyone waiting on their package and congratulations to everyone who got accepted.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!!

Congrats on getting in! Do you mind my asking how many points you have? I was selected as an alternate and I'm just trying to gauge things.

Hi Pretty_Lady!

I submitted an application package for both programs (ADN and PN) using Point System A. I had all the prerequisites completed for both packages. I believe they said that all prerequisites did not need to be completed for consideration, but it was highly advised. I have to find the final points sheet they sent out in the end of January, but I believe I had 97 points for ADN and 58 for PN.

There isn't much information on this program out there. This was my first time applying to the program and I heard that in previous years, applicant's total points were over 100.

Good luck! You still have a chance to get pulled in. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Sarah and Pretty_Lady,

I was admitted to both CCCC and CFCC. I am thinking I will go to Coastal because CFCC is quite a distance (from Carteret County) and relocating doesn't seem possible right now.

My point count was a 108 for ADN.

I do wish more coastal students were posting on here. CFCC always has a thread and a facebook group for every cohort. If anyone that is reading this is interested in making a facebook group, let me know. It would be useful for supporting each other, asking and answering question, etc...we are all in this together and we will need it if nursing school is as rough as they say.

Hey guys! Just figured I would add myself to stay in touch with everyone since I stumbled across this thread. Hopefully some of the others will find their way here. I agree that it would be nice to have a way to stay in contact or post information. Are either of you aware if anyone has started a facebook page in the time since you last posted? That would be ideal since most of us (sadly) check our Facebooks regularly :)

I am excited to get started in the Fall and get to know everyone. Can't wait!

Hey all, I’m applying to next year’s ADN AND LPN programs at Coastal. I am considering retaking the HESI. I was only 1 point away from getting 5 more points added to my total point count. Right now I’m sitting at 88 points. If I retake it and get a 93 or above on the HESI, I could have 93 points for my final point count. Have you heard of anyone getting in with 88 points?

I got into the ADN as an alternate with either 85 or 89. I can’t remember exactly how many now.

Ok thank you! I think I should probably retake it to try and get those 5 extra points!
