Cape Fear Valley - New Grad program

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hello all,

I recently graduated in June from the ADN program at UCBA in Cincinnati. I moved up here from Wilmington where I worked as ED registration @ NHRMC and always hoped to get back on there as 7 years away from the beach is WAY too long. I have had 0 luck getting selected for an interview there but then I came across the Nurse Academy at CFV. I had a great conversation with the recruiter and feel good about the possibility about getting on there.

Has anyone gone through or currently in this program? IF how how do you like it and how was the interview process? On paper this looks like an amazing opportunity and exactly what I was looking for as a new grad.

Whew, made it thru NCLEX. For those from NC - a tip to save you $7.95. Do not use quick results. I took the exam 1/8 at 12:30 and had a licence number on NCBON by 0900 AM 1/10. That was quicker than "quick results".

hsingh - are u from India. I am from Kerala. Would like to answer ur questions for you, but not on this forum. You know how these days agencies are very picky about what people talk about them on public forums. I wish this site would allow PM. If you send me an email address I can send you info. Otherwise, all I can say is NC is a beautiful place. Cape fear is a busy hospital. There is a huge Indian community about 1.15 hrs from Fayetteville, in Raleigh.

I don't think you will regret moving down here.

Yo. It's [email protected] thx

What is starting pay for a new grad at Cape Fear? Is that information allowed to be released in this setting?

No its never really a god idea to talk / ask about pay openly in a public forum.

Pay will be the last thing I talk about here, even though starting pay for 0 experience new grad is pretty standardized per facility.

By the way what is that "avatar" on your profile photo - looks like MohiniYattam to me.

brar dude, I just send u an email.

It's the cartoon character, Avatar Aang from the Show TV show Avatar the Last Airbender.

Hey everyone, I just interviewed at the hospital a couple days ago for a new grad position. I was offered a job in both med/surg and progressive care. I'm still deciding if I want to take the job... I currently live in the Northeast, it would be a big move for me. I am taking the NCLEX in 2 days. The new grad program seems like it would be a good experience.

Recruiters are supposed to be coming to talk to my class in about 3 weeks. Can't wait to hear more about the program!

Congratulations! I know quite a few people who are relocating. I'm coming from across the country, myself.

Hope NCLEX went well!

I got one too! Wonder if everyone does? Im trying to figure out how to swing it bc all the interview dates are on my CLINICAL days!!! Id rather interview early on so I know if I get it or not before I grad.

I'm going on an interview with Cape Fear for the new grad program...I have no idea how many people they called for an interview. I know there aren't a lot of slots open for critical care.
