Best hospital for LD in Raleigh and what is the job market like?

I am probably going to be moving to the Raleigh area in a few months and am looking for some feedback. I am a LD nurse and really want to stay in that area. So far, I have heard good things about Rex hospital and not much else about any others. I keep looking at job listings online and they don't ever have any for LD. This has me nervous. The move will be for my husbands job but I would like to be able to keep a job as well, lol. I am hoping the job market isn't in a freeze like state. Also, what is the average pay range? TIA for any thoughts!

Good luck on a LD job. I work at WakeMed Raleigh and several of my co workers are waiting for openings in the LD. Its very hard to get jobs in that area.

Thanks for the feedback. Are your friends who are trying to get a job in LD experienced in that area or are they trying to retrain to LD? I know that trying to start out in LD is difficult in most areas but if there is a shortage for nurses with experience with LD then that could be a problem, lol.

No they don't. So you may not have a hard time.

Rex is well know for their LD. I think Wake Med is great too! Duke Raleigh is much smaller.

if u have experience you should be fine, it's the nurses with no exp that are having problems these days. there is no shortage of inexperienced nurses, they're every where, experience is the key.

how much experience exactly do u have is going to be the key.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I am still putting Rex on my wish list. However, I keep going online and I am not really seeing any listings at any of the hospitals for LD nursing. I have a few months so I guess I will keep my fingers crossed until then, lol.
