I'm applying to the ABSN program at WSSU this August to start in January 2011. Anyone joining me?

Congrats! I am anxiously waiting to see if I got in. I received the consent form to sign last week but have not heard anything else.

Did you receive an email today from WFUBMC?

Not yet! I emailed the consent form back on Thursday. Maybe I will hear something tomorrow.

Did you check your junk mail folder in your email? That's where I found today's email.

I received my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. WSSU called on Wednesday and was unable to find my consent form that I emailed back, but while I was on the phone they were able to locate. I am so excited and look forward to meeting you!

Yay! I have my interview at WFUBMC on Oct 19. I'm nervous about it. I really want the scholarship. I look forward to meeting you too.

I got into the 2011 ABSN program as well. I had my interview last week. How was you all's?

I interviewed this past Tuesday. I think I did okay. I was nervous going in, but then felt pretty comfortable talking with her. How did your interview go?

I think I did well. I had A LOT to say and just tried to express my drive and passion and why I would be a good candidate. I wish everybody could be funded though, because we aren't going to be able to do much of anything else. They must be concerned about people staying there after they get out, but that wouldn't be a problem for me because I had planned on applying at Baptist anyway. But, overall I think I was able to portray myself well. She said I should hear something around Thanksgiving, I can't wait!! Well, good luck to you, maybe they'll be so touched by us all and decide to fund everyone(wishful thinking)!! :)

Do you think I should still apply. My undergrad gpa is 2.4. I just started taking my pre-reqs as well as some other life and social sciences(soc, anthro, etc). I know it states 2.6, but it also states on their site that they have the right to look at other criteria as well as the grades. So assuming I make all A's in my pre-reqs, I'll also have my cna in 2 weeks, and what if I volunteered at that wake forest baptist medical for a year or so and was able to get a reference from a supervisor.

I'm sorry, I can't answer that question for you. I'd advise you to make an appt with Ms. Garrison @ WSSU. Take your transcripts with you when you go. Good luck!
