I'm applying to the ABSN program at WSSU this August to start in January 2011. Anyone joining me?

Thank you for the information. Has anyone applied for fianicial aid? I also wanted to know if anyone will be communting for Charlotte,NC.?

I applied for financial aid...just in case. I will be commuting from greensboro so its like a 20 min drive. Is anyone going to the orientation on tuesday Nov. 30?

What orientation is Nov 30th? I haven't heard anything about it.

What orientation are you speaking of? The only one I know of is Jan 3 & 4.

don't worry! the orientation is for second degree students, not specifically for the nursing program -- as i understand. the invite was sent via email, which i will copy below. still no word from ncbh -- anyone else heard?

we will be holding an orientation for our transfer/second degree and readmit students!

details are as follows:

when: tuesday, november 30th

11:30-check in and lunch

12:30 program

where: mcneill ballroom in the anderson center

complimentary parking will be in our shuttle lot-ff

I haven't heard anything yet. I wonder if it's going to take another few weeks or so since there were 6 new interviews. I hope they at least let us know a couple weeks before the semester starts.

Thanks esxpe for posting that! But yeah the orientation does not apply to us- I thinks its for those with undeclared majors or those who may have been out of school for a while to help them with registration. I have not heard anything from baptist yet either but hopefully we'll hear something soon because they should give us enough time to get funding from elsewhere if they decide to not fund us.> On a more Positive Note- maybe they'll decide to fund everyone since time is of the essence at this point!!! I hope so!! :D

As we all await notification about funding, I have another question. Is anyone doing anything to prepare? I am not sure if there is something that I can be doing over the next month to be more ready once we start. What are your thoughts?

Unfortunately, I also don't know what to do to prepare - I don't even know which classes we'll be taking or books we'll need! A related question, though - we don't need to register for classes until the orientation, right?

I also remember they said we would receive information about a criminal background check and drug test, but I haven't had any info about how/where to do the drug test. If anyone else has info about that, please share!

I just talked to ******* ******* and she said she' s trying to get a commitee together to select candidates for funding... but this week their having some kind of mock testing or something so hopefully we'll hear something with in the next couple of weeks. She also said that more than likely she'll email us the decisions. We dont have much time left until school starts so hopefully in will be within the next couple of weeks. As far as preparing- its really nothing we can do- me personally i have some old nursing books that I have been reading to touch up alittle but thats pretty much it.

I havent heard anything or received anything about drug testing or background checks... I think they' re going to do that maybe once we're almost through with the program. I think the hospital may require that as with any other job and not the school- not exactly sure tho>
