Advice regarding inteview with Presbyterian?!

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi, I'm a nursing student relocating to the Charlotte area upon graduation in Dec. Unfortunately, I missed the new grad deadline for CMC and can now only applying to Presby. I am unfamiliar with both and to the area; however, I did just receive a call back from Presbyterian. I was hoping someone could lend some advice or input regarding the job market in Charlotte? From what I've read in this forum and heard from outside sources, due to the influx of new grads, it's very difficult to secure a new grad position (especially for someone from out of state). Does anyone know how difficult is it to secure a job with Presby??? I'm awaiting a call back to set up an interview. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you! :D

The job market in Charlotte is not very good right now. Don't know anything about Presbyterian's interview process since I haven't had a call back from them yet. Sorry.

I've been hearing the job market in charlotte is so bad but from looking at the amount of people presbyterian has brought in this year alone I would have to disagree... Presbyterian has a school of nursing which would cause one to think that the hiring process for others who didn't attend that school would be slow or not at all sooooooo Let's just say if you received the call the position is yours!!!! Take it n run with it!!! I've been there since May of this year, I'm a nursing student and I absolutely LOVE IT!!! They are so flexible, my benefits are great , and oppurtunities are excellent. You should check into the awards for this past year! We are REMARKABLE!!!!!

Presby no longer has a SON -- they closed it quite a few years ago (I am an alum of the original PHSON), and gave the name "Presbyterian" to Queens University. What is now called "Presbyterian School of Nursing" is simply the ADN program at Queens, which has no connection whatsoever with Presby. A friend of mine in Charlotte (nursing faculty at UNCC) mentioned to me earlier this year that both Presby and CMC had officially announced they were not hiring new grads. I don't know it that's still the case, or if it's changed since then (my friend hasn't mentioned it again either way).

I don't know many new grads but the ones I do know couldn't get jobs at CMC or Presbyterian. They ended up getting jobs at the hospital in Gastonia. Was a bit of a drive but at least they got jobs.
