Just wated to know what you've noticed since starting and maybe even how much apartments are running down there. I may be looking to start over with my two elementary school aged children. Pitt CC said they would accept any nursing courses I've already taken here in New York. Thanks so much for the advice.
What we've found so far in apartment rents are ranging anywhere from $345 for 1BR all the way to well over $1000 for 2 and 3BR. We've checked out apartments, townhomes, etc. So far no duplexes. We'd love a house for the simple reason...we have pets. Every rental we've checked out wants major fees for for the both of them and pet rent to boot. Both of us are disappointed in what we've found and looked at so far. We looked at one rental townhouse today that actually was decent. But its $600 with a $600 deposit plus $250 pet deposit. Fortunately no pet rent. If we could find a rent to own house in that price we'd jump on it.
www.remcoeast.com www.youngmgmt.com www.hearthsidemanagement.com are the three better propertiy management companies we've found so far. Young Management and Hearthside Management are at least a little more reasonable on the pet fees.
I don't know if this helps you any, but I hope it does. Renting for a little while until you decide exactly where your comfortable living is usually the best advice. Thoroghly research the schools though, I don't have kids yet so I can't help you there.
