Haha nope but I do know a bit about neuro icu because it's a new unit and its sorting of branching off the floor I'm on now (neuro med). Should be a good floor...some good people are going over there. The only tricky thing about it may be the lack of experienced staff (or so I've been told). It can be tricky to learn if everyone else is too! MIU...I would personally avoid. From what I've heard, it is one of the worst places to work in the hospital. You have 4 pts, and at times they can be VERY sick pts (vents and all that jazz). RIU is also a new unit...seems like a neat idea as long as getting a pt outta bed with a vent doesn't freak you out! Don't know much about SIU. Good luck with everything, and don't let me influence your opinion too much because everyone feels diff about these units!

Congrats!!! Are you starting in June because you are still in school or haven't taken NCLEX yet? They said if I am offered the position I will be starting in April....I graduated in December and I passed NCLEX in feb.

Nope, its because that's how long it's probably going to take to get packed up, find a place to live and move all our stuff from KY to NC

Ohhh I see. That is funny because I am from Boston and they said April! I really don't have anything to bring with me. I would literal just find an apt and get furniture the week before. I am not married/ no kids...maybe thats why I need less time! I just wanna start ASAPPPP....I feel like I am forgetting everything

I applied in early Feb and I was called for an interview about 10 days ago and I am interviewing next week. I am pretty sure I just applied for a staff I position for the ED but I got offered only new grad positions to interview for. I did not send letters of reference but I do have to have 2 clnical instructors fill out forms for me and provide them with 4 references on the day of the interview. Good luck!

I applied to a Staff Nurse I positions and was emailed back the next day. It took several days of phone tag, but I finally had some interviews set up. You will be told all the units accepting new grads and you choose which units you want to interview for. I interviewed for 5 units. I just sent my clinical references this week as I wasn't bothering them again unless I got the job this time. They will provide you with the forms needed to fill out, or at least email them to you. Be prepared with questions to ask, especially during the peer interview. This is your chance to find out from the source what the unit is really like, manager, etc. It can be a whirlwind of a day if you have more than 2 interviews in one day (like I did whew....), be sure to eat that continental breakfast at the hotel LOL.

Hope this helps some.....
