Mercy School of Nursing Wait List

Hi,
I applied to the fall semester at Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte and just received notification that I've been placed on their wait list. The letter provided little information on the process. It says "August is filled at present, but we will notify you promptly if space becomes available." I'm just wondering if anyone has found themselves in a similar situation and what the outcome was? I have a BA in a unrelated field and a graduated with a good GPA (3.42) so I'm a bit surprised I was wait listed. Your thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.
