I have a question.....

Updated Apr 08, 2009 at 05:28 PM by VickyRN

I have a question. I am starting NS in the fall and was wondering if the clinicals will keep my CNA certification current. I am not currently working as a cna, but needed it to get into nursing school. I don't know if I will have time to work as an CNA while going to nursing school and I do not want to go through the process of regaining it.Please help!

If you can't do anything else. See if you can do something part-time to keep it updated. In most states you only have to work a certain number of hours every year or two years.

I think the all you have to work is an 8hr shift each year to keep your license. Its not much and by the time you finish your first year, you will probably be eligible to register as a CNA II and that will start the process over again.

You have to work 16hrs to keep your CNA in NC (for your employer to sign off).
