Help! Want to move to Raleigh.

by ldybug7

Hi there

I am a nurse from St. Louis and was wondering if someone would give me some insight into raleigh hospitals. I am looking to move to NC. North Carolina has been a place where I have wanted to live. My experience is in cardiology and I have a little over a years experience at a large hospital. I would just like to hear what kind of hospitals are out there and what to expect with pay and benefits out there.

Thanks

Well, if you don't want to be picky, I would suggest Bowman Gray Medical Center in Winston-Salem. You could live in Kernersville or an outer lying area and the cost of living would be A LOT less than the Raleigh area. I grew up in Greensboro but haven't lived there in about 10-12 years. Hopefully my husband and I will be moving back soon...that's where our families live. There are plenty of good hospitals all over the state. My sister-in-law is a CRNA at Moses Cone in Greensboro. She worked in Cardiac area for a long time before becoming CRNA. Of course the well known Duke and Carolina Medical Centers are in the Durham/Chapel Hill area.

if you are looking to raleigh, WakeMed is huge on cardio, and Rex is another good choice. there is also Duke and its affiliates in Durham, raleigh community hospital, and UNC in chapel hill. you will have lots of choices in the triangle area. good luck!
