DukeRaleigh CNA wages?

I have an interview with Duke for a CNA position. Shift is 7P to 7A. Anyone have wage information or interview advice? I've heard great things about Duke and am blessed to have the opportunity!

Thanks!

Shugg~

I understand they are comparable with UNC who starts at $10.00/hr. The most important thing I have found they are looking for is that you are all about team work. Did you just apply on line or were you able to follow up with someone? Good luck and keep us posted!

I am a CNA at WakeMed and love it. However, I am looking to get into Duke Raleigh as they will better help me with tuition reimbursement for the nursing school I attend. Glad to hear your interview went well and you seem to like the people there. Any advice on applying there? Did you start with an online application? What department are you working in? Good Luck

bcnurse2b,
Did you get your job at WakeMed with the online app? Are they are on hiring freeze right now?

I applied online (CNA2) and it was a while after I applied that I got a response. To my knowledge there is not a hiring freeze. I think there are some openings in the float pool if you are interesed you should apply

At Duke, HR hands you off to the Manager and the manager hands you off to the team. I liked that and I was able to say and ask more than a simple office interview. The interviews (everywhere it seems these days...) are first with a Manager, then a Unit team of RN's, NA's and other support personnel.

I didn't in fact get that position but my back issues (bulging discs) are forcing me to look closer at an IT or Clerk position and school reimbursement from my current employer will help...just wasn't in the cards I guess, but I am grateful for having had the experience. I'll be calmer in the next set of interviews and can ALWAYS learn something new!

In the mean time, I'll just keep applying, having an open mind about the opportunities coming my way and taking care of my Pts

Thanks everyone!

bcnurse2b- I just saw this post and I was wondering how you got the job at Wake Med? I am starting CNA classes in the next few weeks, and I want so desperately to work in a hospital upon certification but I worry that they wouldn't look at me if I am a new grad. I am going to start volunteering hopefully in the infection control area to get my foot in the door, and I am also going to take a Medical Terminology class, but do you have any suggestions? I would love your input!
