Hi Everyone,
I've been doing research for scholarships in NC and as I research have run across a few that like membership in various organizations as well as community involvement and leadership skills. I'm pretty sure I can do that, unfortunately for a limited period as time is limited.
Anyway, one of the scholarships was offered by Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) so I went on their web page to see who they are and what the eligibility criteria is for the scholarship. I then went to the NC info and found the NC Association of Nursing Students. Turns out they're having their Annual Convention from October 1-4 a block from my job. The agenda looks good and would answer a lot of career questions, such as CRNA info, ER nursing, the image of nurses and leadership. There is an NCLEX review and guest speakers. Anyone going? The fee is $65 for non-members so I'm not sure if I'll make it. Deadline is Sept 20.
So my questions are:
1) Anyone here in any student organizations? For this one in particular most were from UNC (where I hope to go anyway).
2) Any real benefits to these memberships?
3) Anyone going to the conference?
I'll keep researching and post if I find anything that seems useful. Have a good weekend.
