Union County College Nurses

Hello everyone!

I am psyched to be here on this thread with nurse from NJ!.. NJ IS THE BEST!...

Is there anyone here is currently attends Union County College/Trinitas school of nursing?

I am taking my last pre-req's next semester before I start the nursing course in September.

I would LOVE SOMEONE TO TALK to about the program....

I know school keeps you busy but if you have a minute.. please email me to chat..OR.. please offer some words of wisdom for a returned "older"(30) student..

THANK YOU!!!

First of all you are NOT older ..I'm 37 and am persuing my Nursing degree at Trinitas.

When you start your Nursing in September I guess you are starting with Nurisng 130.

Devote a lot of time to reading.READ REAd REAd READ.
It's a good program and prepares you very well for NCLEX.The NCLEX passing score of trinitas school is therefore very high. You may get grilled in the school exams but you will emerge victorious in NCLEX.

If you really want to know what the course is about.Drop in on 14th January at 4:00 p.m. in auditorium(Elizabeth Campus),when a senior student is having a conference for 132 students.
You will get a lot of tips about how to study, how to manage your time and how to prepare for exams.
This is basically for 132 students, who are going to have their clinical term in spring 2004, in cardiology and respiratory.

If you are doing your pre-requisites now,pay a lot of attention to Bio 105 and Bio 106. Your basics in physiology needs to be very very strong for you to succeed at Nusring school.
When you find time have some Medical distionary reading. Will help you a long way.

Good luck

I graduate in 2005 May..if I clear all semester at single try.

Good luck with your bio.Do pay attention to basic cell structure and Electrolytes..
Chemistry is very interesting..just don't get intimidated by calculations..If you will master them..you will be queen of dosage calculation in Nursing 130.
Good luck.

My advise....go to campus NOW...
Get the name of the books..(Ask the bookstore people)
Start READING ..NOW

If you utilise your summer reading those chapters from "Fundamentals of nursing"and practice the calulations from "Dosage Calculation" book.Your "A" is assured.
Aim to keep up your GPA.above 3.0

Hi everyone,
My name is Fatima and I'm a 31 yr. old wife and mother to 4 children. I currently attend Essex County College in Newark as a pre-nursing major. I won't know of my acceptance/denial until around June 15th. 3 weeks ago I did recieve my acceptance into Trinitas/Union County College program. I am soooo excited. I applied to this nursing program as a backup, but I've been hearing such wonderful things about the Trinitas Nursing School. In my acceptance letter they told me that I would probably have to wait until spring to start my NURE 130, mainly because the classes are all booked. I called and spoke to someone at Trinitas and she told me that the dean is trying to find a more people to teach NURE 130. If she can then more spaces will be available. I really hope they find more people to teach the course. I also found out today that UCC is going to accept 27 of my 40 credits that I earned at ECC.... :hatparty: So I'm very excited about that. Anyway I'm glad that I found this board and hope to get to know you all.

Fatima
