Merit Technical Institute

by Mya87

I was actually surfing the net for LPN degrees, I noticed the school Merit Technical Institute. I have never really heard of it outside of the internet so I was wondering if anyone know if this is a good school or not? Also I noticed the price for the school is 12000; is that too high for a LPN school?

Entertainment Re: Merit Technical Institute
I am currently a student with them, I will hopefully be graduating in March 2009, as with any school they have there ups and downs... And from when I started to now I would say they have gone down.... There is never any one you can go to for help... since the director passed away last year.... this new one is horrible..... you can't go to her for anything and she is never around, and when she is she never has a answer for you...... They do claim to have the highest passing rates for the boards..... we will see..... As for the professor they have a few good ones that truly care..... and try to help the students..... I went to them because it supposed to be a 12 mth type program.... I would have been done already, but had other issues going on... so i had to leave and now am back.... and God willing will be done soon..... Hope this helped but good luck with your choice.

Hey im glad to hear that everything worked out well enough for you to come back to accomplish your gas through Merit. I will be starting soon w/ them. I have some financial concerns. were they able to offer you FA? They were able to let you go in the middle of the program to finally come back?! are they really that flexible?

hello all, i am currently going to Merit.. please, do not make the mistake in registering for this school. i am sure im not the only person who will say this to you but this school is MONEY HUNGRY. they do not have financial aid, they do not provide books or uniforms, they are NOT organized. they grading system is, 77% to pass all courses, i can prob name 1 or 2 teachers that are actually caring and want u to pass. to sum up your final grade it is 10%-hw, 20%class tests, 30%-midterm, 40%-final.. and trust me they kill you with the final.. as hard as you study.. does not seem to work out. they give finals OUTSIDE the school, from NLN.com or ATItesting.. not like other schools where the proefssors make their own midterms n finals.. they CLAIM to have a high passing rate. out of 35-40 in my class there are 13 still standing and they are only in med surg1, they still have med surg 2 to go. they are only the tuition is low for a reason ! u get wat u pay for and i learned the hard way. pls save your money and invest in a GOOD lpn school!!
