Default Re: Merit Technical Institute
hey! i def agree w/lpncp15 coz im also a current student at merit & im currently waiting to repeat the classes coz i failed 3 of them. i've been waiting for like 3months now just so i can repeat them and the rule is if u get 3 strikes at merit, u have to repeat the major subjs: maternity, peds, pharm, med surg & funds, clinicals too even though u took them already & passed them & there are no discounts!!! each class is about $1K. if you fail again, you're out of the program! yes it's true the tuition is now $13K. this school is totally unorganized, they weren't prepared how fast this school is getting packed & now they're trying to like rush the classes to end so the next class can start. each class ranges from 1wk -2months each. if you're absent the day they give back your test results, they will make you wait till the end of they day to get it. that's so stupid! i dont' know why they can't give it to you right away. as for the midterm & finals, yea its' true it's done by outside the school and some sites we use to take the exams, only allow us not even 1min to answer the question. i believe it was ITT site i think & it was only 50 questions i believe. we went from 125 questions down to like 50!!!! also they don't round up your grade. so if you got 76.9, they won't give u 77 which is the passing grade. they even make us stay OT in class when some students got work. they even made us come in to school during the snow blizzard and one of the prof was lecturing in the hallway while waiting for the receptionist to unlock the classrooms. you also got to pay attention to your receipts, coz they made errors a few x's saying i owe them this or i never paid 3 or 5 months pay, it wasn't in the computer. good thing i had my receipts. no place to study, there's no library, no cafeteria, everything all outside the school. well i dnt knw what else to say, so please dont waste your time w/this school.
