Medical missions related to NICU

  1. 0 Was just curious about any experiences that neo nurses have had with medical mission trips. After graduation this semester, I'll be a lot less busy with school, so I was thinking of trying to travel somewhere before I get back into school for '09. A medical mission trip seemed like a great idea.

I was really excited about Operation Smile because they offered frequent trips to a range of locations and the trips were fairly short so it wouldn't be impossible from a PTO standpoint at work. However, I've received the application and it looks like they're recruiting people with full-time periop experience only.

Has anyone participated in a similar non-faith-based opportunity open to NICU nurses?
