Happy July!

Specializes in NICU.

We are fortunate. Only 2nd year and 3rd year residents come to our NICU. But heyy, no worries. If I don't agree with the resident, I call the fellow to question. Chain of command!

Ha! Summer is the only time we don't have MSIs. Otherwise we have a new couple every two weeks. It can be exhausting.

Question from a - hope to become a nursing student- what/ how do you want / shouldnew interns to do? Or act?

All input will greatly appreciated. I don't want to get on the wrong foot with a mentor ..

It isn't the new nursing people, it is the new docs..at least new nurses have a preceptor, these guys are let loose! We always tell them...look, this is like no where you have been or will be, make sure you ask us anything!!!

Nursing interns usually are well aware of their "knowledge deficiencies". MDs just graduated from Med School, and DON'T know what they don't know. It's often our (the RNs) job to clue them in, and not kill them @ the same time. And not let them harm a pt in the process.

We're not worried abt you, Merdogan! :D

Thank you! :)

Please continue to update me if you remember anything that you would want your clinical nursing students to do/act?

July happens to be the month of my birth...
