I beat the odds!

Specialties NICU

Published

I am on maternity leave right now from my new job in the NICU (got hired Aug. 1). My 26 and 29 weekers inspired me to go back to school for my BSN. I found out last year I had a clotting disorder and have been under the care of a Perinatologist/MFM doing Lovenox injections and BA daily (thrombophilias are linked to early onset pre-e).

So hooray, here I sit at 36w5d today more pregnant than I've ever been! My c-section was supposed to be today but I have this nasty illness so had to reschedule for next Wed (will be 37w5d).

So happy I made it FULL TERM!!!! I won't know what to do with a 6-7 lb. baby...lol.

YAAAAAY!!! Congrats! I wish you and your little one the best of luck!

Congratulations!!! That is truly wonderful, amazing, and awesome! :D I'm very happy for you. :) I had a 34 weeker, many miscarriages, a 24 weeker, and my last, a 28 weeker. So you could say I truly know how wonderful and beyond words it must feel to have made it so far! I hope your c-section and recovery are smooth, uncomplicated and as easy as possible. ;)
