Hello! I'm in my last semester of nursing school, currently precepting in the NICU. I'm interested in learning more about the NASS; however, I cannot find any evidenced-based research to support that this scoring system is superior to other scoring systems like the Lipsitz, for example. I know that Finnegan's is the most widely used scoring system, but again, why? Thank you in advance for any insight you may have.

I'm not really sure why except that the Finnegan's has more data to look at, the other one only has a few and they arent' as specific. The Finnegan's does separate some things out like the respiratory rate with or without retractions, the sleep cycles.
